I am the lead study coordinator and site liaison manager for the GENetic Frontotemporal dementia Initiative (GENFI), an international research project which looks at the rare genetic mutations that cause genetic frontotemporal dementia. My role includes managing external site protocol, organising and curating study data, running external training on trial procedures at each GENFI site. I am also responsible for the GENFI site recruitment, assessment and study management at UCL.
Alongside this I am working towards a PhD, which is evaluating pre-symptomatic cognitive changes in genetic FTD. With the support of the Alzheimer’s Society I am creating computerised assessments that can reflect the subtle changes in the brain that we know exist years before symptoms develop.
Alzheimer’s Society- More than memory, this is a short feature which outlines my PhD project
